Storage bin climate controls swap

I recently picked up a 08 GP GXP and want to integrate my phone threw the monsoon stereo (ill swap out the monsoon once mirrorlink tech improves). But the storage bin beneath the climate controls isn't optimal for my phones car dock because the shifter is in the way. But if i could swap the storage bin and climate controls locations my phones car dock would fit much better. I did some looking around in GP forums and didn't find any useful info if this could be done. Anyone have any idea if this can be done?
 


Taking the dash apart is fairly easy and straight forward if you want to find out. remove ring around ignition switch( just pops off) and pull off dash surround ( pull towards rear of vehicle starting from the bottom is easiest, remove 4 screws and the compartment and HVAC controls are removed.
