I have some subs and an amp that i want to hook up to my stock head unit is there an aftermarket piece i need to pick up to make this work i like my factory head unit and the steering wheel controls anyone have any suggestions are appreciated thanks guys:th_king-evil:

u'll need a line output converter...I have one in my closet, that one is made my tsunami ... beware you may not get the "power" out of a stock head unit than a aftermarket

After market unit will push better but stock will be alright. If you have the stock headunit with the 7 way adjustable equalizer you will be able to kinda set it up so they push a little better but to really get full adjustment you will want to get an after market headunit but you want to stay stock and that will work fine. Along with the lineout converter you will also have to plug and play a little in the wiring harness in the back of the headunit to find the keyed 12 volt to run your remote wire from for your amp turn on. I would tell you which one you want but i don't remember. I have done a few of these setups for friends. Its not difficult just make sure to tap into the right wires. Easiest way to find out which wires to tap into for your lineout is to either climb in the trunk and just look at the colors going into each speaker or you can find a diagram of the fatory wiring harness.

Does the steering wheel interface really work? I have been without my controls for a few years an don't miss them but when i got my aftermarket headunit they said alot of the time the kits dont work?

You have to look and see what decks the interface is compatible with.

I wouldnt pay an audio place to do it just find someone to do it for you if you dono how or dont want to. I would offer but im nowhere Il. Im in michigan for school and in ohio when im home.

I am pretty good with car audio myself but i'm no electrician...the average person can't wire this up, so was just a suggestion... =P

O alright i was always curious about it. Ha i think mines a little too complex for the steeringwheel controls atleast too complex to access all the options. I have an alpine with the ipod full speed. An i wouldn't invest at this point anyway since im so used to just reachin down there an changin it. Only thing i would invest in would maybe be a remote but i couldnt find one. Should have had them order me one when i bought my headunit.

Yeah, Im the same way. It's not like the radio is out of reaching distance. I don't miss not having them either. A few extra dollars saved for something else.

I need to find an antenna for my dvd player cause it catches TV!!! only 1-2 channels at the moment, and thery're not really good but feb 2009 I'd have to put a HD converter on my radio to watch TV LMAO

Yea exactly its right there not any further than changing gears. An yea wouldnt that be a ***** havin to get an hd converter for your car. Thats stupid. The whole idea is stupid but o well just one of those innovations they've decided everyone has to get.

i think its pretty nifty to watch TV, you shoulda seen me when i first got it watching the only channel i could pick up, the news lol

is it stupid but my grandfather just got an HD converter, he gets 20+ channels, CRYSTAL CLEAR...either u catch it or not...its funny cause its almost better than cable TV
