Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

still ticking

Ok guys, this is gonna make me nuts so all you 3100 gurus jump in.I have done the complete top end from head gaskets up all felpro ,new lifters, pushrods, all new sensors, exhaust gaskets, any how this thing still ticks in the top end but the strange thing is it stops ticking at about 2200 rpm but ticks at any other rpm.the only thing I have not changed is the injectors, and yes I'm sure the noise is in the top end as I can feel it in the manifold.any ideas are appreciated.

like i said in the last thread,
thats normal,
these motors tick at idle no matter what little less when warmed up but from idle to about 1700-2000rpm they tick and theres no much you can do about it,
i have seen that thicker oil helps but it still does it

I know I know but I have heard the so called normal tick and this is different,I used my scope and the injectors rails make a lot of noise.now knowing the engine wasn't taken care of I'm wondering what condition the injectors are in,I just want it reliable till I finish my 3800 build.

How much did you torque the rocker arm nuts to? I just finished putting my 3100 sfi back together and had a nasty tick. It turned out that I overlooked one of the rocker arm nuts and never torqued it down completely. Hopefully your problem is under your front valve cover and not the rear one.

There aren't a lot of us 3100 guys on here and help is hard to find. I hope I can help.

Not yet, working to much but I ordered a set of injectors because I have changed or checked everything else and I'm pretty sure its a fuel problem by the way it runs and if I tap on the injectors while its running it quietes down some.I'll keep you posted.
