Still getting knock!

Hey guys, so I have a 01 gtp and so far all I've done with the car is install headers, 180 tstat, cai, copper al104s, 1.0 zzp tune and stock pulley. I'm still getting knock at around 70mph at WOT. I've checked the engine bay for loose components that could be giving me false knock and I couldn't find a darn thing. What do you guys suppose I do to get rid of knock? My plans were to run a 3.6" pulley by now, but I see no point in doing so. The ultimate goal was to get to a point where I can run a 3.4" with no knock. So what should be my next move guys? Thanks in advance!!

Also I will say that the highest KR I've seen after my zzp pcm is 1.1 but I haven't been beating on her so hard due to the weather conditions in Illinois. Before I got the pcm I would get 2.3, on rare occasions maybe 3 degrees of knock.

Nope I didn't beat the firewall in, but I was thinking that could be the culprit. Could I still do this with the headers installed?

you can but you really would need a air hammer to do it.

best check and see if its bent the o2 or not too. if its bent replace it.

if you put the car in reverse, and hold the bake, you may hear it hitting the fire wall too. your first clue its hitting.

Thanks I'll definitely listen today when I go out. But let's say it's not hitting the firewall, is it common for people with my mods and zzp tune to still be getting knock on stock pulley?

ZZP tune...oh the things I could say. At 70 WOT you're probably at the top of second gear...which is a pretty decent load. What fuel are you running? How many miles on the car?

I know how a lot of guys feel about zzp tunes but it was cheap haha. I run 93 octane and there's about 181k on the engine

ohhhh ill have to post this on thechicagogarage.com

lolololololololol

i got in a pissing match over canned tunes with mike k.....

pfft someone having issues on a canned tune no fvcking way!!!

not saying its the tune not saying it isnt either.......

at the op please dont tell me your using a cell phone app for scanning.

2nd for the love of god why beat the fvcking firewall in? go to an exhaust shop and move the damn 02 sensor if its a concern its hitting!! plug the current hole and move the 02 is what id do but whatever works i guess nfg not my car.

just my opinion here dont everyone freak out. i dont like canned tunes, phone scanning aps, iphones, or the state of california, or the color purple....... lolololololololol

OH SH1T!!!! edit and how could i forget most importantly throw a2w intercoolers in the garbage!!!! :th_laugh-lol3:

I took a good look earlier today and my upstream o2 is sitting nicely, no obvious signs of it hitting or bending and it's got a little bit of room for some play. But I did see that the headers have been hitting the firewall. There's a tiny little impression in the firewall from where it's hit, but at idle or when turned off there's about 1/4" of clearance. Thanks Scotty!

And Sven, no I haven't tried sea foam but I've been interested in trying it. I'll definitely make an effort to get my hands on some. Also I read your post from a while back on safely modding a 3800 and it was a nice read. Sorry to hear about your experience with zzp. For the most part I've experienced really good customer service from them, but so far I'm starting to think this tune is a little mild. Oh and if you seen I might have found my problem. My headers were Infact hitting my firewall and left a tiny impression in the material.
