• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Still alive!

Hello all! Been a very long time since I have posted here. Been busy with life, going theough cars, blah blah blah. My GP is still chugging along. Got about 83k on it now. Still has a bad bearing for about 6 months or so now. It’s still under manufacturer warranty (Moog), just having a hard time acquiring a single 35mm socket for the axle but. All in all, still running great. Went through a 2018 Nissan Sentra (unfortunately repossessed) so it’s replacement was a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx that I got for $1000. 3.5 liter V6 yo! Two small spots of rust on the rear rockers about 4” in diameter. Not too bad. Needed back brakes, driver side door handle, drivers seat, interior cleaned. Had 174k miles. Runs good now. Just replaced the OEM plug wires so that helped a lot. Averaging 25mpg. Someone increased the rim size to a 17” GM wheel (can’t find them anywhere) painted black and wrapped them in cooper zeon zpt tires. Nice fun little car though.

I know my Malibu isn’t a Pontiac but maybe you guys can help shed some light on this. Yesterday leaving work, the car idled up and down between 700-1200rpm, and finally smoothed our after warming up a bit. Buddy at work told me the IAC valve. This morning it did it bad and the control center chimed “reduced engine power”. Now these have an electronic throttle body, so is there an IAC valve present to replace or is it the whole throttle body?
