sticky gas pedal

i noticed sometimes when i get in the car and press on the gas pedal it sticks, like i'd have to press on it 2-3 times to before it loosens up.i got the car in april at 82k and since then i put 2k on it and i don't know how the previous owner took care of it.could it be a clogged pcv valve?and if so is there anything else i need to replace /clean while changing the pcv valve?i know i have to clean the throttle plate

Why would the PCV valve have anything to do with your throttle plate?

There's probably a lot of carbon build up in the throttle body. Should clean it out.

a guy at work told me that and i was thinkin the same thing but he seemed to know about cars as i am fairly new to this

yeah what he said...also check the throttle likage by going and simulating the tb movement as if you were pressing the pedeal inside the car and see if you can catch it sticking...inspect all the cables ect...couldnt hurt

sorry if im butting in....they have aftermarket dp's with or without cats...the offroad (no cat) ones probably wont pass emissions

no problem im tryin to learn from everybody .i see damn near everybody on here got one i wanted to see what i was missin.what do u benefit from them?

find out what you want from your car....then decide what you need to do it with...will you bennefit? yes..mainly from the restrictive u bend deleate....some will bennefit more some wont..just depends on the mods

it does?cool thanx.yea this is my daily and im tryin to get at least 300 horses out of it,just wanna be able to hang with most.i got the wizaired, tstat, and some ignition parts im plannin on slp powerflo exhaust, zzp pcm,hv3 insert,hv tb,slp headers, and of course i'll be building the suspension ,and brake upgrades with it.am i goin the right route?

yea this is my daily and im tryin to get at least 300 horses out of it,

The current record for a naturally aspirated 3800 is ~300 crank HP. That's about 240WHP. And that engine has a LOT done to it (ZZP's). Don't be too disappointed.

As for DP, I do have a catted DP but I don't have emissions testing to pass (military, and the state where my car is registered doesn't require emissions).

i know that this is an uber old thread but im having this same problem. does anyone know of a good cleaner to remove a build up? i have not taken it apart yet to get a good look at it but if the throttle is a dirty as the rest of my engine bay ( just bought it when the snow started flying) then its probably filthy inside. would i just use like a carberator cleaner of some sort?

thanks guys for the help

how hard is it to remove that? any hidden bolts i should know about? would it be easier to clean it on or am i better off taking it off and cleaning the entire thing
