protect mode is the feature all aftermarket stereo's have when they receive a jacked up electrical signal, ie. bad ground, bad power. Easy fix if u know what ur doing! Now the problem can come from 4 area's back of the head unit, amp, speakers, or the power source. Now the hard part... finding the bad spot in ur many wire's that u have. i suggest check the last thing you have touched or that isn't mounted down to the car! once you have identified the problem or what u think it is, reset the head unit and give it a test! only bad thing with resetting the head unit is every setting will be gone!:th_nervous: hope this works for you as it did me! and if i missed anything please add! i would add photo's but my car is a mess.
