steering wheel radio controls

Hi. I'm a newby here . I have a 95 Grand Prix SE the radio controls in the steering wheel don't work but the radio will randomly change channels.
Can anyone tell me if there is an easy fix or how to disable them. Any info would be appreciated.

I can't speak 100% for your car, but on my 99, I can pry them out of the steering wheel, gently, and then disconnect the plugs behind them. Your have plugs too, you just have to get to them in order to disocnnect. Then simple re-install everything.
 
I wish they sell "caps" for this radio controls, because once you change the factory cd to a better one, this radio control won't work so they useless. I wish to find some kind of "caps" to cover them up and then, I'd put my initials on them, like a sticker or something lol
