Steering wheel play question

So I've got some play in my steering wheel. Not sure if that is normal for GP's but if it isn't any idea how i would be able to get ride of it or what my problem might be?
 


when you say play how much, mine has some also (as do most cars on the road) if it's excessive you may have a worn rag joint or coupler
 
Ok yea its kinda excessive in my opinion. It needs aligned too so ill find out there soon if anything else is wrong with it. thanks
 
I'm having the same problem in my 98 GT and I had it aligned and relooked at because its still jerking from side to side!?!?! Any ideas?
