Steering response

I have been battling steering response for a while now and just wanted some opinons. I can deal with body roll as long as it is predictable but this steering response problem is driving me nuts.

I know going to 18" rims and lower profile tires will help, but how much will it help? Is it a night and day difference?

How much do STBs, poly LCA bushings, rear lateral bars etc. effect steering response. What is worth doing to correct this an what will not give me any improvement? I appriciate any advice.

having the tires roll before they catch traction is a big deal.

stiffening up the suspension will help, as always, but the main problem is your fat tires that are 'proper' sized.

My car used to wonder and have very sloppy steering response. Then I replaced my 90,000 mile oem tie rods with Moog greasable tie rods. Shot the boots full of Mobile1 Red syn grease and it's a beautiful thing now. Super quick, tight steering response love me some gtp again!!!!!!

Race cars don't slam the wheel left and right hoping for instant steering response.

They practice more gradual turning so they can be faster.

Take care of the body roll first. IE. stiffer sway bars, poly bushings, moog links, stiffer struts.
