Steering Gear

My girlfriend has an 04 gp gt2 that won't turn left. I'm not home but I'm thinking steering gear and she took it too a shop they are saying the same thing. Shop is trying too get $600 for the job, I have done them before but not on a gp. They are saying part is gonna run 350, they said nothing about a core charge so I'm guessing I can get another 100 knocked off. But I also have access too a lift and would rather save some $ and do it myself. Motoralldata is telling me I have too drop the rear of the engine cradle, but I have heard also that this is not a must. Dropping the rear of a cradle is no big deal I just don't have access too the proper stands. I guess my question is do I really need too drop the cradle? if the answer is yes I'll pay the labor no problem if the answer is No, I'll probably do it myself unless someone tells me its a huge pain in the tail. Any advice or opions is welcome

Thanks
Eric

They are not fun, you dont need a stand to drop the rear of the cradle just loosen the bolts like 3/4 of the way.
