Start and Stall

So I have an 04 grand prix gt 2... and since I got in 7 months ago,
the car likes to start, and stall almost immediately if I don't give her a little gas. she then runs fine and idles like my baby should.

What could be causing this?
Hod do I find out exactly what it may be without going to the god awful mecanics shops around here?
 


How about that throttle body cleaning people talked about with the '04+ cars...maybe that might have something to do with it?
