SS fuel Lines

Has anyone here run Stainless steel fuel tubing from the engine bay to the actual tank? I don't want to use anymore than like 2 ft of SS flex fuel line as I personally don't trust it over a solid line (my friends SS brake lines ruptured after 6 months). I'm planning at running solid lines from the tank all the way into the engine bay by the master cylinder. Then running a 2ft SS flex line from solid line to the stock fuel line and use A.N. fitting at both junctions.


Is the fuel line supply 3/8 while the fuel return 5/16?

Any one know what the rear brake tubing line size is? I might replace those as well.
 


Those are the stock sizes, why you replacing all the hardline? If I were you, i'd just cut off the stock plate line and run your SS line there. It would be a lot easier...
 
That is an interesting idea. However, I dont think 8' would be enough. Id think you would need more than that to make it one solid, continuous run. A polished or at least a bright stainless steel line would sure look better than the OEM lines.
 
My stock lines look pretty rusted, and I figured since I have no classes this summer (college) this would be the perfect time to replace them so I don't have one that rusts through and would cost me a fortune if I was away from home and didn't have tools with me.

I believe the ebay auction person is able to get me coiled SS 304 tubing, which I would purchase like 12 ft or so of both sizes.

I dont trust SS flex line, that's why I want to limit the SS flex and use SS tube as much as possible. Did I mention the stainless steel tubing would be Alcohol friendly as well.
 
I for one would appreciate any write up and pictures and stuff like that you could do if you proceed with this cause I would like to do this myself and them being alcohol friendly adds a certain zing to it for those wanting to run an E85 setup.

Anyway, if you have the time and means, document it as fully and completely as you can as I think this would be a how to that would come in handy in the community.
 
I just dropped my cradle for the first time since I'm going to rebuild my transmission this week. That thing took me 6 hrs to get it out:(. There was quite a bit parts to move more than I though would be necessary. I have two extra bolts I didn't label, so I need to find out where I removed them from.


While I'm waiting for the rest of my trans parts to come in, I'm going to hopefully start buying the Parts I need to get this fuel line setup working.

I'm documenting my cradle removal as well as anything else I do. So if I have time to get the SS fuel lines installed, I'll definitely have it documented.
