My airbag light has been on ever since I fixed my windows. The Driver window was not working and I ended up doing a few stupid things in order to diagnose the problem. I tried to short-circuits several wires in order to see if the motor is still working or if it is the controller. I even saw smoke but then I later determined that it is the controller/switch that is the problem and I replaced it and everything worked fine. However, since then the airbag light has been on. Can anyone tell exactly what happened electrically and whether it can be fixed or not.

Check the rest of the fuses (including any under hood ones) and if those check out then time to have the codes scanned at Autozone and see what they point to.
