SRS Airbag light is on

Not much of a poster but view silently. Question that I need some help with...

Earlier today I was involved in a low speed front impact where I 'love tapped' an SUV. Saw what I thought was a green light and let off the brake and guess what... It was the green turn light!! Way under 5mph but still hit the brakes and tapped the vehicle in front of me. No damage to him and none to me except the indentation his receiver hitch made on my bumper. No airbag deployment and didn't kill the motor.

The SRS Airbag light came on right away and stays on after initial startups. Is there any way to reset this and if so, how/where?

Thanks!

Maybe just try disonnecting the battery for 30 min and then reconnect. Should dump the codes. If it comes back, then will probably have to have it scanned by a GM Tech II scanner or another high-end scan tool. I don't know if Autozone's scanners will pick up SRS codes.

under the pass front seat is a box under the carpet, that the air bag module, if unhooking the battery dont clear it, i would think that box is bad. its got the crash sensor in it. can be rebuilt aka reset but used is cheaper.

Update...

Did as suggested and unhooked the batteries for an hour or so last night. It cleared the code tripping the light so all is good. Except my dignity for doing something boneheaded!!

Now to figure out why my ac is blowing out of the defrost and floor as well as the dash vents. Windshield is fogging up when ac blows out top of dash. It's like there's moisture in the system.

start with checking the vac line off the top of the super charger to the fire wall for breaks, if n/a its the same line but its in the middle rear of your intake.

this line runs to the pass side fender near the battery under the fuse box to a wire harness to inside the car.

this is a t that some cars have, one side under the fuse box, the other side runs across the rad support to a vac ball. so the impact may have broken the line?

I'll check tonight after work. It's a GTP. The "fogging" on the windshield has been going on for some time actually. I haven't driven the car since last fall but my dad has. I'm pretty sure he's oblivious to anything that goes on anymore as he never noticed it. I just started driving it again this week as I'm finishes working on his pickup. The fogging was very minimal if at all last fall. Now its way worse and I just noticed a couple of days ago (pre love tap) that its blowing out of the defrost and floor as well as the vents when its just set to blow out the vents.

the vacuum actuators may not be working, or the linkage off then broke.

if you cant find a broken line under the hood. follow this thread to open up the dash, http://www.grandprixforums.net/thre...acement?highlight=change+blend+door+actuators

the the round things in the diagram with the rod off the top and vac line is what you want to check out. car running change the air flow direction, and watch the pumps, theres one on both sides. see if they move when told to. if they dont move see if you can move them, car on and off. dont force them to move or stuff can break. the pumps may be holding vacuum and holding the rods.

i forgot, theres a relay of some sort on the fan box on the pass side fire wall. those cause issues too when bad. dont recall if it was the fan or the air flow that was affected by it tho.
