Spyder halos

SC06GT

Hey guys, despite the common theme of "don't buy". I opted to give them a try.

They came with literally no instructions. I'm left scratching my head on what to do. I tried to search for a write up but came up with null.

Does anyone know how to wire these up?

There is a reason there is no write up. That is because they suck worse than suck. You wasted your money, and will be wasting your time trying to wire them up.

wow spyder sandwich with extra sauce right there.

Do you know whats behind the old ones? As in took the old ones out and it's stump the pope time?

Should just be unplug stock and plug in new. Sounds like you are in the dark....little pun

Iirc, you just need to splice into a power source for the halo rings. Other than that they're plug and play.

Stealthee, I think you're being kinda harsh, he'll probably get a few years out of them before they start falling apart. At least that's my experience with the pair I bought lol.

Well he could maybe return them and get what?..TYC/Depos and some brighter bulbs.

New headlights & Morimoto mini H1s or D2S 3.0s plus some Fast Bright F3 or F5 ballasts, XB bulbs for about 325--- Then the personal labor.

Thanks for ripping my head off.

Anyway, I just requested a return. If they truly are that horrible for light output.. I need to be able to see.

Story on my factory ones: I wet sanded, buffed, and polished back to perfection. Instead of having an auto shop clearcoat, I decided to do this myself. It didn't turn out great, but it doesn't look awful. Guess I'll be looking for some factory replacements.

Also: I know they are plug and play, it was more on the how to wire the DLR led's. I should have been more specific on that, sorry.

If you are able to return the Spyders, go to RockAuto and get some stock housings. They are around $35 each. I had Pia Xtreme white bulbs in mine, and the light output was as good as it gets without doing a retrofit.

LOL if you think they were "ripping your head off" then you never been on other forums then. these guys are just trying to save you time and money in the long run if you dont want to save money then i cant stop you.

Yea they suck I've had 3 different brands they all suck waste of money never again can't see shxt they don't adjust and they bounce all over the road when you hit bumps because the housing/mount is so flimsy. Don't get me wrong they look real nice being one piece but not worth the bullshxt.

I've got hyper whites in my current housings and they put out some serious light. Anyway, return is going back tomorrow.

Yes I'm a member over @ GMFS as well, there are d!ckheads on there as well. The internet is full of them. Apparently I should have known better

Lights are on their way back.

I've ordered from rockauto before, but never headlight assemblies. Are these good quality (as far as form and factor go?). Even prior to ordering those halos, I was always a bit skeptical about aftermarket headlight housings, as far as the fit and finish goes.

I bought some cleared headlight and turn signal housings(with DLRs) for my 2004 silverado, the only thing I had to do was seal them up even better with black silicone. They look even better without the amber and still look factory. I put hyper whites, and wired in LED switch back turn signals and LED DLRs. Also had to wire for LED's tail lights.

They are as good as stock. I've bought 3 pairs (for different projects) over the years; no leaks or issues at all. I live on the "Wet Coast" and have had no moisture issues. The mounting brackets that they come with are flimsy, so just re-use the stock bracket and you are good to go.

I see you have a 04 in the avatar.
I bought 2 sets from Amazon but they are the same thing. They work fine.

I will be the dickhead who says to use a HID kit from the Retrofit Source for some light. And make it 50 watt ballasts. Just aim them down a bit(as if it will make a difference).
I didn't get flashed much, if at all, for a year.
That should spoil you into wanting to retrofit some projectors in.

Not a fan of HID's in non HID housings. They blind people (I noted your statement about pointing them downward.)

My 04 Silvy is a great truck, I've modded the hell out of it. Best mod: corvette servo.
