Speed sensor question

I recently purchased a 2005 Grand Prix GXP. I love this car thus far, and I am about to put tires on it.
I am considering manipulating ride and handling a bit with tire choices, but I need to know where it measures speed.
I did try a few searches both on google as well as on this forum, but did not find the information I was looking for.......

Thank you in advance...

There should be a speed sensor on the transmission.

So if you put tires that were 5% smaller or larger on the vehicle, the speedo would read off from the actual vehicle speed.

You can correct speedo by either updating the reluctor ring on the differential or to do it in a tuner. I prefer doing it via the tuner.

I had a storm shut down the power when I posted my "Thank you" response. Informative and useful. Thank you all!
