• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Speed Daddy Headers and Smog

from the factory it only came with one cat. then a resonator, then the mufflers.

ca is messed up with approved headers. you can still run a cat, and the egr vale can still be hooked up. so all the factory sensors are stil used.

no idea if you pass inspection.

the other way you can get close to headers and pass inspection is a front plog, and a 3 inch catted down pipe. not as good as headers, but better then stock.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is teh front O2 before or after the cat. I would guess before. So there are EGR provisions on the speed daddy headers? I cannot tell from the picture.

headers come with a down pipe. some are sold with a cat, some are sold without one. aka off road pipe its called.

you can install a cat if the speed daddys headers dont come offered with one.

the only set of headers CA will let you ever have is from "The Other Guys" header and you have to tell them your from ca to get your EO sticker.

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/amquery.php

here is a link that will help you out a ton on the hole EO number. From what I looked up last year you couldnt run an IC it was Illegal, also too CA thinks they own your Cat as well you cant touch that if you want to drive on the roads out here.

had to edit this because i didnt have the right link

Thanks for all the info everyone. I am not worried about the visual. Only worried about the tail pipe. Just looking for a cheap OB2 50 state legal 3" cat. It appears the speed daddy is a 3" DP.

Thanks

Eric

last year when i looked it up it said that the other guys header were ca approved but to shell out 899 for a set of headers is way way way to much

here found this on there for ya

Not that I would do this but does anyone have a picture of the EO number on the header? I have a guy that makes stainless steel identification plates...

In theory I should be able to jsut weld me stock cat in correct? What is the difference in size between the SD down pipe and stock down pipe. If I remember correct the Stock DP is 2.25 ID.
