Special Edition Spoiler fitting on regular trunk?

Hello there, been a while since I have posted on here, but today I seem to have found a decent deal and I need a little help. I am picking up a set of roof rails and a special edition spoiler for 20 bucks a piece. Been waiting a while for a deal like that. My question being, is it possible to get the spoiler itself to fit on my trunk lid? :th_scratchhead: After talking to a buddie apparently the holes do not line up. Has anyone drilled new holes and sealed of the others? or will they show? Any advice will help. Thanks in advance!

...and the SE spoiler should cover up the old holes. Just make sure to install proper seals on the new holes or it will leak like a sieve.
 
More than likely when you remove your stock spoiler there is going to be rub marks and lots of dirt and scratches under it. Its going to look like crap.
 
The SE spoiler WILL NOT cover the old holes. You need to seal them up and get the lid repainted or find yourself a base model trunk lid that is spoilerless.
 
Poopy deal. Got the new roof rails on and got my all set up with the heat extractors. Looks like im on the hunt for a spoilerless trunk for my car! There are no scratches under the spoiler. Plenty of dirt but nothing that cant be cleaned up. Im just not gonna try sealing the old holes up and crap.
 


you could just refinish your deck lid, take off the old spoiler grind then plus weld the holes grind it down, then put some fiberglass filler over top then use some body filler or putty coat over top to take out the pin holes that will be left from the fiberglass filler. then drill your new holes sand the deck lid with 220 then primer then sand with 600 wet and spray your color. sealer may be needed if any bare metal is showing after you sand 600, then spray your base and then clear.

or instead of welding you can use panel bond
