Alright guys, this is my first post and I need some help/advice. Have a chance to get a set of the hood louvers for $50 complete with the drip pans and all. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to paint them to match and cut into my stock hood to do this, I've seen the post w/ the details of this. BUT here's my real question...Do I need to put the drip pans underneath? I would assume since i'm getting them w/ the louvers I would but I don't know how they attach from under the hood. Does anyone have a special edition/40th/daytona that can take a pic from under the hood (without the cover) so I can see what it looks like? Thanks guys!

Here is what I did. I put the drip pan underneath the hood where it would go and marked where the holes are from where the vent pins come through the hood (the drip pan has 4 holes in it where the vent pins come through it). I also marked where to screw the drip pan into the hood's cross-hatched supports (the drip pan also has 4 holes where screws attach the pan to the hood). I then drilled, from under the hood, where the hood pins are supposed to come through the hood. Then I rubbed chalk along the bottom edging of the hood vents (where the screens are attached) and placed the vents on top of the hood and lined up the vent pins to their respective holes. The chalk along the bottom of the vents marked on the hood where the vents will come through the hood. I used a marker and drew an extra space around that chalk lining to give some room for the vents to slide into the hood (maybe 1/8" or 3/16"). I then used a dremmel tool to cut through the hood along that newly marked line. Now, all you do is slide the hood vents into their vent holes with the pins aligned in their holes and use 3M tape to attach it securely to the hood. Underneath, I attached the drip pan with 4 small screws and it was all done. The key is using the drip pan to mark all holes for the screws and the vent pins. The drip pan should fit perfectly and only one way under the hood. When you get the drip pan and start seeing how it fits underneath, you will see that it fits only one way.

I did basically the same thing as morrisgl. I used the drip pan as my template for where to drill the holes.
