I've got a friend that will be replacing plug wires this coming weekend. I know the stock wires are 7mm. I thought that I had heard somewhere that 8mm wires were readily available at part stores for an older Bonneville (96 era) Does anyone have any knowedge on this?
Thanks

You must not of heard all the stories about Zzp and there crappy wires huh? I kno they revised them but still food for thought. Just get ac delco replacements from advance and be happy.

Yes I have. I had them before that happend and after that happend. The original ones were awesome as all hell. Then they switched to a different manufacturer and they screwed them up big time. Which is when they got a bad reputation. Now they've switched back to the old manufacturer and they're awesome again.

thats music to my ears max cuz i just got some in yesterday! lol u notice any gains in response? mileage?
No idea what the gains are like. When I did it I was doing a lot of other mods that do a lot more at the same time. I know on my old car I was one of the first people to buy the original kind and they really did a lot for that car. They're definitely overkill for probably any application but they're really high quality and reliable (the good version). At least from my experience.

thanks for all the input. the answer i was looking for is "92-94 bonneville SSEI, "1" VIN code" has the 8mm wires.
they are actually cheaper than the "recommended" parts store wires
...just throwing that out there for furture reference.

You do realize that you can get 8mm wires in many other brands w/o going to the supercharged L67 Series I Bonne motor? I'd be concerned about the Bonnie's fitting properly for the back set since the plug placement in the head is not symmetrical, the charger is smaller, the coil pack bracket is different and other things.. Just tossing out a little general Bonnie knowlege for ya.

As for the gains...if your plug wires are working well, then you have no gains. If they sucked, then you'll gain back lost power.
