ive been in contact with the sonnax distrubutors for pricing ill update when i get a ballpark price on this

Talking with the engineer who designed it he said that it should easily be sub $200.....my guess is that it will be in the $130-$180 range. That's a total guess.

I think it is a great thing, seems that now more and more people are going turbo etc and we need stuff like this to make these transmissions reliable(ish) at higher hp levels.

With that said, I am told by my trans parts supplier when he called sonnax after I called him, they would be avail to buy this coming week. I plan on ordering one, if anyone else wants me to grab one for them and I will ship it out to you when I get it, just shoot me a pm or email with your shipping zip and I will let you know the price when I find out and if you want me to order you one I will.. I will just add shipping cost, might be a little extra for the shipping to me as well.. so figure around $10-15 over cost for those of you who don't have someone they get their trans parts from.

Very nice. Is the ETA on this before the end of jun I'm rebuilding a trans now and would love to throw this in there.

I ironically just dissassembled this clutch pack last night, in the process of building a trans for my turbo GTP... Hmm, I wonder if this will work with my Z-pak 3rd gear setup? Or if the Z-pak is even necessary at this point?

It will work with Z-pak setup. But like you hinted towards I don't believe zpaks will even be needed.

In my turbo car I will be running upgraded boost valve, oversized boost valve, modified spacer plate, billet 3rd housing/piston, borg warner HE frictions, all along with a shift kit of course.

p.s. Pretty sure I bought a ZZP 300m IS from you ;)

Not from me, but maybe from another Colorado guy named Zack Howard? He sold one off a few months ago. I bought his blue plate clutches off of him, which include a z-pack 3rd gear setup.

I too am using the sonnax performance large ratio boost valve, transgo kit with TEP tricks, and modified spacer plate.

I know the blue plates are overkill and not needed, should have done more research before I bought them and could have saved some money. But I gotta get this thing together and am just gonna use the blue plates and z-pack. I'm up to 15psi now and just started getting a slip-bang on the 1-2 shift out of the stock 140k mile tranny that's never been out of the car. I've got the FMC amperage pretty low in the tune and I think that's what's made this trans last as long as it has. Can't complain about that..

Yeah I guess it was Zach Howard and saw that he had those blue plate w/zpaks for sale when I was buying the input shaft.

I'm going the Sonnax "Performance Large Ratio Boost Valve" AND "Oversized Pressure Regulator Valve Kit" which I have to send off the valve both to Dave at TEP because it requires specific drill bit/reaming tool.

Nice, the valve body I am using is recent reman from VBx, it came in my core trans which was a rebuilt unit with 300 miles that burned up because the channel plate gasket blew out somehow. I did find one loose channel plate bolt. I'm thinking the previous builder missed a bolt when torquing it down.. The Valve body has all new hard andodized valves in it already (not sonnax brand, VBx says they use new late model oem 4t65e hard anodized valves). I pulled it apart, cleaned it thoroughly and each valve looks brand new, and is very tight in the bore. All I did was remove the sonnax boost valve and sleeve and replace it with the upgraded large ratio boost valve and sleeve, and replaced all solenoids for good measure (AC Delco shift and tcc solenoids, and a BW pcs).

I think you are referring to sonnax's oversized pressure regulator valve, the one that goes in before the boost valve and sleeve, right? Is it that much of a difference over a good condition stock sized valve?

I've built a bunch of different auto transmissions and transaxles throughout the years, this is my first 4t65e, though..
