2000 GT, it hesitates in 1st gear when i step on it. and now its doing it more often and when i am just driving. it also does on the freeway sometimes.

mine is doing the same, my mecanic told me change the plug and wires and ill be good to go and when it hesitates dont keep giving her gaz because it may brake something in the engine
 
the trans fluid apears fine.normal levels smells good and not very much metal. ive got some opinions from mechanics and the common suggestion is there is an issue with air/fuel mixture possibly fuel pressure or carbon buildup in the engine.it has 111,000 miles and was driving by my grama untill two weeks ago.has anyone had similar problems or have any ideas where to start?
