Some questions about my AC

First off im dealing with a 98 grandprix

Okay so I finally decided to work on my a/c after getting sick of these overly hot days and noticed my compressor didn't turn on. I went through the wiring diagram and looked at all the fuses and they seemed fine. I check the relay and it was fine. But the diode below the a/c relay would not read any resistance either way so that must be bad. I also noticed that the relay did not click on when i turned the a/c on. I Have not check the pressure but will soon. Does the pressure sensor in the vehicle effect if the relay turns on or not?.

Lastly I had a set up where i just connected the battery to the compressor and it didn't even click or give me any feedback. Is that normal?

I came to the conclusion that the clutch must be bad/ something isn't connected right, i have a leak, and the pressure is to low.

can anyone give me any advice or help me out?

low pressure will not allow the compressor to turn on. However applying power directly to the clutch should engage it. Not sure if youd hear a click or not but if you pull the belt off you should be able to tell pretty fast if it grabbed the pulley just by trying to turn it before and after.

If you applied direct current to the compressor and it's still not turning on.......you probably need a new compressor.
