Socket/Wrench size for removing knock sensor

I'v researched and came across a few different sizes. Just want to make sure before I begin removal. Also is it vital to have it at the correct torque spec? In that case I would think I would need to use a deep well socket to get at it.

Another quick question. Do I have to drain the cooling system first? And if not, how much coolant usually leaks out after being removed?

You don't have too, but just the top of the block will drain out, figure maybe upwards of 1 gallon on the high side.

I'd remove it, catch the fluid and re-use it or add in new stuff. Just take the thermostat out to refill the top half of the motor and then install the thermostat and bleed the cooling system.
