So some dude turned into my car...

A DoD Civilian employee turned his 2012 silverado 2500 HD right into my car from the left lane on Thursday when i was driving to a ship. That really put a damper in my day. The fender that normally protrudes over the tire is now pushed back about two inches, the driver side mirror was crushed back into the door, the weather stripping is buckled in, and the window was partially down, so it wont go back up all the way. Also, when I go in reverse, there is a lot of popping and brake shudder coming from driver wheel. I kicked the tire and it has a lot of play in in, something is broken there. any guesstimation on how much damage is done? Hopefully they total it out due to repairs costing more than value of car. its a nice 99gt, almost all options minus 6 disc changer. oh yeah, the door gets caught up on fender too, and pops when i open/close it more than half way.

that freaking sucks. if its that bad, hopefully you can get some $$ from the insurance for a different car tho. Prolly a better one too

i was looking at a convertivle LX...with mods...shame on me! but it was beast...i decided to let it go, because some tool hit me, and im not sure how long this will take for the body shop to appraise/decide that its worth fixing or not.

but if anyone has a clean late GT (supercharged of course!) or an 05 and up GTP comp G i will take it! reasonable price. i dont want a loan, or wipe out my savings account...

From the sounds of it, it will need a new door (maybe), mirror, fender, likely a control arm and tie rods and maybe new front brakes.

good thing i was holding off on the brakes...i almost swapped them out two months ago when i did the wifes van.

totaled it out, got 4400 for it, waiting for them to waive my 500 deductible since it wasnt my fault...got a 2011 lancer sportback...time to turbo swap!
