• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

So...Convince me on a cam.

I have done everything, I mean EVERYTHING possible to this car except cam, and bottom end.

Paint, interior, exterior, wheels, suspension, brakes, headers, e85, intake, rockers, intercooler, 2.8, e-85, plugs, wires, hp tune, stereo, dynamat, carpet, floor, seats, alarm, tint, full exhaust, gauges, TEP trans, 3.29s, fuel pump....whatever....Its pretty much been done. Or its been taken apart and re-assembled.

Here is my dilemma.... I am at 303 fwhp, stock cam, stock bottom end. I want more.

I am thinking the next step is full phenolic IC, Northstar tb, cam, swapping out rockers from a 1.9 standard, to a 1.8ish yella terra roller rocker, with springs, dual timing chain, custom grind cam, ect...

My concern is emissions, I am in an area that runs a sniffer test on the dyno. and I already have to run a special lean tune I put in to pass then every 2 years.

My question is, how impossible is it to make a cam pass emissions?
If I go for broke, do the cam, head work, tb, ect. am I screwed when it comes to emissions time? I fully understand that pulling that blower off and going turbo will make more power. but I am really looking for that 350, 375 fwhp blown mark.

We don't have emissions here, so I don't have any experience as far as passing goes. However, using the car's systems to test emissions, I can tell that you will have a difficult time passing with anything other than a vs cam. All the other cams misfire too much at idle making it difficult for the o2 sensor to work properly.

You also may have a shot with the xpz, but I don't know for sure. You may be better off working on improving your intercooler.
