Snap rings are the bane of my existence

Hi folks-
So here's one for you. I've replaced my fuel pressure regulator, but now I cannot get the snap ring back in to save my life. Old part out and new in took 90 seconds, but I've been fighting with the snap ring for nearly an hour getting more and more pissed to the point where I can't even look at the car right now. This should not be this hard. Anybody have tips or tricks for getting that damn thing back in place?

BFH indeed. Works wonders. It didn't help that my snap ring pliers were the wrong size for this application, but a little cool-down time for me and a few minutes of strategy later I've got it sorted. Thanks for the suggestion.

how the hell would you get a good swing with a BFH for that job? lol yeah the right pair of pliers always helps. should go in ALMOST as fast as it comes out. glad you got it tho.

BFH + screwdriver I don't care about = snap ring popping right back in. I was able to get the ends of the ring in with the pliers but I wasn't able to manipulate the opposite end into place. I wedged in the ends and gave a good smack on the other side with the BFH/screwdriver system and it locked in fine. Took it for a drive and it works great.
