hello, as the title says and would like to add that after it dies, it starts right back up. as i said it runs. when it gets low on gas it misses and dies. when it has gas it is really sluggish and the gas petal is heavy when i press it. delearship couldn't find anything wrong with it. yet it messed up after i got it back from there. did the fuel filter friday evening. did tune up with fuel injection cleaning. we're thinking it is something in the engine. my mechanic yesterday morning mentioned something about a crank sensor or an ignition censor and that since it runs he's almost positive it's not the fuel pump. please help
 


No codes? My other car has a bad crank sensor, and all it does is stall occasionally. Maybe a lot of carbon in the egr? Just a guess tho..
 
I think your "heavy pedal" problem is coming from the throttle body being all gummed up. Take the t-body off and clean it well with carb and choke cleaner and see if that helps. I know mine was practically sealing the brass plate shut with carbon buildup. Then take a rag and soad it pretty good with the C&C and scrub out what you can reach of the upper intake. It does wonders.
 
I have the same thing with my 2004. Stalls when low on fuel, then start up after a few minutes. Noticed my mpg sucks as well. Mechanic cleaned out throttle body, but still does it. He said gm fuel pumps are know for being bad when low on fuel...thats how they get destroyed.
