slp spoiler help

Ok so i ordered my spoiler off of elitespoilers.com. I was wondering if any of you other guys had this problem and if so how you fixed it. I emailed and spoke with a representative from the company and this is what he told me...

Here is what the manufacturer told me. We have sold many of these and they have always fit well. If you apply a little pressure it will flatten against the deck lid.

OK just checked with the guys in the back and there is a total of 5 screws that part mounts with. Remember we have sheet metal the size of business cards strategically placed inside the mounting holes that will allow the spoiler to conform to the decklid, keep going and she nestles right down to his desired location

after i applied pressue, this is what i come up with...keep in mind there are only 6 holes in the trunk lid, none of which are close enough to the lip thats sitting far too high.

Personally, I would send it back. I assume you started in the center and worked your way out on both sides evenly? I don't even think 2 sided tape would help with that huge gap.

This is not a genuine SLP spoiler. Its a clone. It has been known that there spoilers don't fit well in the center area on the trunk. Send it back and invest in a genuine SLP.

I sent him photos of the problem. A lot of guys on the other site ordered there spoiler off them and Ive never heard fitment issues. I'm gonna see if i can exchange it out for the gen2 "slp" and see how that goes. To spend this much money, and not have it fit doesn't seem worth the hassle.

I don't know if anyone is following this thread or whatever but, i stumbled across this from the other site.

I've been reading and all these aftermarket spoilers come from the same place, a company in texas. I'm going to try and get it to fit

Good luck bro.. Just tell them, it's wrong and I'm following your instructions. I need a replacement or something to fix this problem.

well, i am the master. The spoiler just needed some disciplinary action. None of the holes lined up in the right spots. I measured the spoiler on the trunk as if i started by scratch. Drilled 6 new holes, tightend them up and now the gap by the window is very tiny, you can barely notice it at all. The weather striping that came on the spoiler was really thin, so i bought some thicker weather-stripping to replace it, then, i shouldn't get any water leaks :D

ill get some pics tonight
