silicone gasket need help quick...

got some silicone sheets to make my own sc gasket....what i wanna know if can i not cut out the passage between the lim and sc for the egr to block it off so i dont have to worry about the ebr blockoff plate on my LIM leaking?? is this safe or can that piece eventually get sucked out?

The problem is that the air under the silicone would be at atmospheric pressure. Exposing the other side of the silicone to vacuum can't be good for it, not even accounting for the temperature changes messing with the pressures. Better to just cut a hole.

If you're already sure that it's blocked off and just want added assurance, I suppose you could do it that way. I'm with Scimmia though. I don't know how strong the silicone is when laid across an entire hole like that and asked to deal with differential pressures. It's meant to be squeezed between two parts.

The hole isnt that big, the silicone is pretty strong. Id do it, thats all im saying, its your choice as always. If your gonna block it off anyways dont cut the hole.

its already blocked off plus you will plug the egr hole when i do my ported blower from you right so this would be pointless?

which hole would it be again?

ok then thanks for the quick responses! when you gonna be open for a ported case bro? i have the cash but dunno how long ill have it...

Ive got some people in front of you but if you need it done soon just let me know, ill see what i can do, depending on what you want done with it. I thought you already put your snout on? You gonna take all that back off again?

i gotta pull the blower any way i think my coupler got messed up while putting the new snout on its rattling a bit...could you have it done in a week if i payed you thurs?

Where did you pick up this bottom silicone sheet from. I'm aware of the ones at target, but I'd like to take a look at this one as well.
