• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Sierrias business

So the shop I work at has been all assembly until this last month. Now we're back to machining; stinky, oily machining. So in an attempt to both keep my truck squeaky clean and to remain a tight wad I picked up this beauty for work duty.

2000 gmc sierra rcsb. 180k, 4.8 2wd. Currently in the process of pulling the trans. No reverse. I"m under the assumption its going to be the notorious stripped reaction sunshell. This will be my first attempt at rebuilding a transmission. Remember me in your prayers before bedtime.

In the spring I may or may not fix the rockers, we'll see how the trans goes first.

Finally found some time to work on this. Hope to have it done before thanksgiving.

Fun.

Culprit found, reaction shell as suspected.

They're not bad. Lol.

So got it back together. The tutorial I found online said if I spin the input clockwise the output should spin the same and vice versa. It only spins the output clockwise and doesn't spin when I rotate it ccw. Anyone on here know if I screwed something up? If not its going back in as is. Why would the input ever spin ccw anyways? It said if it doesn't the input drum assembly wasn't reassembled correctly, I never took it apart lol.
