• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Sick and tired of this not working.

This would be the second mini obd2 code reader I've purchased. The first one was questionable but this one was recommended to me by several others on here.. It will connect to my tablet just fine but once again will not connect to vehicle ecu.. I've sat in my car for 20 mins waiting for it to connect still nothing. Is there ANYTHING I'm missing that it won't connect? Please for the love of god help me before I smash this thing

will a normal code scanner work? like the free one at autozone? go see if it will connect. if a scanner works, the issue is on your end, not the car.

all i remember is once i had gm pid's selected it worked, but didnt show KR, so i added torque scan. its a free add on.

I just reset everything now. Deleted the app reinstalled forgot all the connections and all that. Connected the reader itself in port. Went to Bluetooth and connected. Went to torque settings, chose bt device, then went and selected pont gm pids. Looked at adapter status and comes up with can't connect to ecu.. Like I said, everything to the t..

you do have the car running right?

in that vid its all dont turn the car on, i plug mine in car running all the time with no sh its given, it works fine.

id try hooking it up to a friends car, see if it works then. if it still dont conect. somethings up with the phone app or bluetooth scanner.

or your doing something wrong still.

I'm using torque pro.. Maybe there's a bug idk.. I'll see what it does to my parents vehicles.. And I don't understand how there's anything else I'm doing wrong Scotty...

I have been eyeballing these readers for the last 2 months and I am afraid of buying a Chinese knock off POS on ebay. It seems it is 50/50 on whether it will work or not. I have looked on Elm's website for the real deal and may end up biting the bullet and getting on from them directly. Since they are in Canada though, shipping and duties will cost as much as the unit itself. Still a great deal with the Torque App and the things you can do. I mainly want it to read KR. I plan on getting a triple pod A pillar with boost, electrical and oil pressure gauges down the road. If/When I get one from Elm directly, I will post up about it.
