Hi i have a 2002 grand prix se. With 152,000 miles on it also has the 3100 motor. I have the chance to trade it even for a two door 1997 grand prix gt. GT has 190,000 on it. Just curious if its worth doing. Thanks

No.

I'd never want a 97 GT. First year problems and it has a 4T60e vacuum trans. Though the transmission is "okay", I would never want to deal with it's possible problems.

Yes this is pretty vague on reasons why, but screw 97 GT's.

The 3100 was in tons of cars, malibu's, monte carlo's etc and those were just as big.

It's got enough power to do it job as a daily driven car, they just have intake and head gaskets issues sometimes.

At 211,000 miles, I have had a whole set of uncommon 3800 part failures due to age and high mileage. If you are going to trade for a car with such high miles make sure you have a list of what has been changed with genuine parts. Unless you also want to learn how short repairs with cheap chinese parts last.

Run it into the ground...and find a '98-'02 GT/GTP.

'03's are touchy tune/trans wise due to the crossover year the following model year...and the '97's, like stated...are just crap.
