So I'm replacing my front bumper because of a accident. I went to the junk yard and they have different color cars (mines is silver/grey) so my option is to paint the front bumper but then I thought about hey would if i wrap the bumper in 3m Carbon Fiber Vinyl which i can get of Ebay. Maybe even just wrap the lower facia in 3M Carbon Fiber Black wrap. Sounds good ?

The 3m Carbon Fiber Vinyl color I'm looking at is like a silver checkered color. I posted links to the auction below.

What do you think? Would it like nice if I wrap the whole bumper which would save me painting it or just wrap the lower facia?

Wrapping the whole bumper probably wouldn't look very good.

The Di-Noc is high quality though, and I dont doubt you'd be able to do it.

Best bet though would to be to paint it, and wrap the lower fascia if you want (or just paint that too)

Also welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately it won't look good. Not to mention a wrap done right is not cheap and DIY is going to be very hard on a bumper and might take you a few tries to get it right which means buying the wrap over. Having a good body shop paint it will probably end up cheaper.

Just paint it... I look at 3m cf the same as I do plasti dip. Thumbs up for minor interior use but thumbs down when it comes to the exterior of the car. Of course smaller things like lets say badges, maybe even a lip I'm ok with but everything else screams ricer to me especially on a Grand Prix

lol well update

I went to a pull a part junkyard and found a front end bumper the same color as my car. Might of fact they had 5 cars same color as mine. Took the bumper off a 2000 se I think. My car is 2001 gt. Bumper was the same. Took my old one off and put new one on at the junkyard

Also saw some parts for my mustang.

Total time about 2 1/2 hours. Cost was $37. Not including $20 gas and $5 beer money lol. On the way the smoke a stock 97 v8 mustang price less! Driver was very mad and confused lol

Funny thing bodyshops wanted $750

Time to swap the grille out now and underdrive pully. I will do the 3m for the dash

I wanted to change out the fog lights in the process but o well

Well, the body shop was quoting for a new bumper, labor to fit it and do any minor modifications that could be necessary, paint, etc. $750 sounds a bit high if they were using an aftermarket bumper, but not very out of line.
