short term fuel trim

I am hoping someone can help me. I bought an overkill programed pcm for my mostly stock 06 gt it is installed and running pretty good but the long and short term fuel trims sometimes go as high as + 10 could this be because I had him tune it for. An open cone air filter that I no longer use? Is this going to hurt my motor?
 


As for having or not having an open cone filter it wont hurt the car.

+10 is ok. a stock car can have up to 23 ! a good tune is said to have Long term trims 5 or less and be at Zero at 100% throttle. and short term should be close to zero at all times. without tuning the car in person or with live data it is hard to do this. as you can have two cars that roll off the line and one have trims +15 and the other -8 you just never know as the assembly is not higher tolerance. and this leads to variation that causes the diff.

A stock air box will see lower air temps then an open cone filter. the cooler air will tell the computer to increase fuel. which doesn't seem to be the case as the car is adding fuel in response to a lean condition. with tuning it is safer to have the tables set for a lean condition so that the computer adjusts to the rich side. making for a safer car. it seems like backwards thinking but it works.
