The instalation of this was really easy. The hardest part was making a new hole for the air sensor. i installed mine in the middle of the pipe as you can see in the pictures, but you could just cut a slit in the rubber boot and stick it in there.

I have noticed that my car does get better gas mileage and a little better performance. It is true that you will get more performance from a true CAI, but i think that airflow is more important the the temp and thats why i wanted this one,and the price is right on this intake at only 69 dollars. This thing sucks in air a million times better than stock and you can hear the difference.
The only cons i had about this product is that i didnt know what the two metal brackets were for and it would have been better if a different rubber boot was used.

Overall its a good product that greatly improves on the stock model and is a lot cheaper than other intakes on the market. if you wanna order one check out their link in the Supporting vendors section or AutoMatCentral.com - Premier auto accessory specials

youve got a GT so that is alright, but the more you get into modding you should have gotten a 4" piece of tubing.

Not the best for performance, since it's such a narrow tube and is sucking hot air. But you'll get better MPG. And it will probably perform a little better than the stock air box.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Something that won't hurt performance or gas mileage.

i would say that the differences are with the ebay kit you get a 3 inch pipe whereas automat's is 3.5 inches. Also, i didnt see anything about the ebay kit including the grommets or things to relocate the air sensor. With the ebay kit you will probably have to cut a hole in the rubber boot and place the air sensor in there.

Also, the intake we offer is much nicer looking than the ebay kit mentioned... :th_thumbsup-wink:

I had an ebay intake kit and it came with a IAT hole and grommet. Like I said that type of intake isn't the best for performance, but I saw great MPG without any tuning. Now I see the same if not better MPG with a CAI now that I can tune.

if you wanted more flow and not a cold air why didnt you just do an open cone right off the throttle body? i for one like true cold air intakes. but if you are going to do a hot air intake you are better off running the filter right off the throttle body, that will give the most flow. just my $.02.

It's been months since this post. You gave a great review of the product and i was wondering if you are still happy with the product? Is it still performing well after all these months? How is the filter holding up? Any feedback would be appreciated as i am interested in purchasing this item. Thanks in advance!

Would if i could. I'm not quite as mechanically inclined as most people on this board. I can do the basic maintenance stuff but when it comes to custom building intakes and what not, then i just don't have the know-how. I wish i could do half the stuff people do on here...haha

Dude...all you do is buy a damned chunk of PVC pipe and a connector that fits over the TB and bolt a filter to the end of it...if you can't do that then you don't belong modding a car
