short ram intake for a 2007 grand prix

I'm only finding CAI's for my 07 grand prix, I just want a short ram because i dont want the air filter out of the engine bay. Does anyone know a compatable short ram intake for my engine? (3.8 L26) I'm not sure of the exact size of my throttlebody, thanks for any help!
 


You can just put a Cone filter off of the MAF sensor and it will be right by the fenderwell. That's the best way to go.
 
Ha, no one thinks of that, so no intake line just a direct connect to the airflow sensor, I'll do that if I can't find a short ram, thanks. Anyone else know of a short ram intake that is compatable?
 
There are none for your car. I will more than likley be the first to come out with both a short ram intake and FWI for the 04+ besides the 300.00 K&N garbage intakes.

I currently make them for the 97-03 GP's and used to make cold air intakes for the 04+

This is pretty much what you'rs would look like. This is my old setup on my car whn I was running the LQ4 MAF sensor. It's sutup the same way as you'rs is. The only difference is you'rs would not go out of the engine bay.

BTW You're MAF O.D. is 3 1/4 on both sides.
 


actualy i did find an air intake that meets my requirements, my buddy has an 05 gp and we have the same exact MAF sensor opening and he was able to get this particular one working for him.

I've been on here for a while. Comming out with new cheaper products (usually the exact same thing just cheaper). I'm about to go live with my web site this week.

Ok well if you'd like me to design somthing up for you just let me know. Everything I sell is made out of quality 4'' piping that is manderal bent into the shape that is required.


But if you are intrested I can make you one how ever you like.

TDC, are you still making the intakes for 97-03's? If so, what's the cost? I've been looking for a FWI and really like the look of the one you posted.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Ok, thanks. For now I'm going to try this one I found, and if there are any complications with my 07 intake system I'll consult back to you for a custom built one (as the one I found says it works for grand prix'sfrom 2004 up to 2006, even though everything under the hood has been the same since 2005)
 
whats the differenece between a cold air intake, a short ram intake, and a Fender Well Intake?
Which one would be the better choice?
 
There is a lot of confusion in the terms that are used.

A cold air intake simply refers to an intake that delivers colder air that a stock setup does and is usually an overated term that is used for almost all intakes.


A fender well intake offers the coldest air possible. Period. The reason why is that it takes the ambient air (Which is the coldest that you can get) and delivers that into the intake.

A short ram intake is nothing more than a peice of junk. It delivers nothing but hot air in the tempature range of 110-160*F

The fenderwell intake would be the best choice. It delivers the coldest air possible. And that's what we are all aiming for when we put any kind of intake on our cars other than stock.
 
so correct me if im wrong. but is there a possible chance that with a fenderwell intake it could suck up water. or is it secure under the hood where it won't suck up any type of water.
 


No...unless you are going through some deep amazonian caves then there is no reason to worry...why is everyone so worried about sucking water into their intake? If that is the case then get a crappy one in the engine compartment and make your car slower. Or, go to K&N and buy a Pre-Filter...or filter condom that blocks out water.
 
Thats what i did with my fwi.... we just got 2 inchs of rain and i drove all over in it with no problems at all... your not going to suck up any water unless you run your gp in a lake.
 
i was worried about mine for the longest time, and i've run through some pretty deep puddles (max 5-6") at about 35-40mph and have not had a single problem with mine. i no longer worry about this
