I own a 2002 GP GT and having some serious shift problems. After sitting for a few hours, my car will not reach 3rd gear but instead go into neutral. It will do this for a while, 5-15 minutes of driving a then finally hit third and fourth gear. Then I have no real problems except for some hard and erratic shifting. Also when coming to a stop, I sometimes hear and feel a low vibration and seems my rpms drop to about 600. When slowly accelerating from a stop , it will sometimes jerk heavily or have little power like I am in the wrong gear, (3rd instead of 1st). This the best I can describe. Took it to a tranny shop and they told me my tranny is basically screwed and would have to take out and open to find out whats happening. aprrox. $1800 they quoted me. Any Ideas on the problem? Could this be the epc solenoid or shift solenoid? Should I rebuild or swap.
