Shift kit for 97 gt?

Hey i was doing some looking around and all the shift kits that i have found have only been for a 98+, never a 97? what gives? The section of the forum says 97+ (4T65E) (4T65E-HD). doesnt the 97 have a 4T65E?

97 GTPs used the 4t65e...but a 97 gt used a 4t60e. yours is a vacuum controlled transmission and it is very weak.
