I have a 05 Pontiac GP and the Service Vehicle Soon light started coming on about the time I started getting Charge System Failure messages in the Drivers Information Console. After several new GM alternators I finally got the Charge System Failure light to quit coming on but the Service Vehicle Soon light continues to come on if the key is turned to the on position without starting the engine or the engine is turned off. If I start the engine the light will come on but I can manually turn it off at the DIC but it will come on again for a second or two when the engine is turned off only to come back on when the key is turned to the on position. I assumed the only thing that it could be reading at that point is the battery voltage so I got a new battery but that did not help. There are no codes that can be read with a basic OBD2 scanner. Does this light need to be reset with some advanced diagnostic tool? Any help would be appreciated.
