Service Engine Light came on

So today my "Parking Brake" light came on so I popped the hood and noticed the sensor that goes into the brake fluid reservoir was hanging out, so I disconnected the sensor and pulled it out of the reservoir, the light did turn off. My question is if I disconnect the sensor would it cause the "Service Engine Light" to turn on? My engine runs great no problems at all

I'll just check it out tomorrow at work since we got a scanner. I just really hope it's something small... Not a first good impression.

Ran it today at work at found out its the crank position sensor. On my way home from work the light turned off, idk?

I'm buying the sensor this week on Friday, any idea which one it might be? I heard these things will kill your Tranny if you don't replace them.

Typically the only issue from a CKPS sensor is rpms on the tachometer dropping off, car stalling. I've never heard of a trans being harmed by a crank sensor.

It's the one that is located behind the harmonic balancer. Ensure you have 1/4 20 bolts or M6 x 1.00 bolts to pull the balancer. Most puller kits don't include them.
