How do I disable security in pcm.... I was told it was turned to false in secirity drop down menu and the number value is set to 255... I think factory is 0 the problem is the car cranks consistently but dies 3-5 seconds later... It doesnt try to continue running no matter if I peddle gas pedal or what... Ive tried everything and all is left is pcm.... And my tuner is thinking security is issueso help please
 


I don't remember the exact name. Look for something like injector pulse disable timer. It'll be set to something like 4, IIRC it's 0 you want. That keeps the injectors from being disabled by the pcm.
 
ok.. and does this issue sound like a crank or cam sensor issue? the car starts consistently and dies in the exact same time frame.. 5 seconds from running to death
 


alright last question.. will any serial to usb adapter work for the dhp tuner or does it absolutely have to be keyspan
 
I have a radioshack one. I've heard that some didn't work, not sure which ones. A few guys I know had the shack adapter and I just bit the $30 bullet on it.
