Seat Heater Question

Does anyone know how exactly the Heated Seat circuit works?

My heated seat only seems to work occasionally.

The switch works fine, and the indicator lights work (HI & LOW) as well.


Is there anything special that needs to occur for the seat heaters to work?

I.E.:

Car in motion
Car in Drive
Downward pressure on seat (seated person).

Hopefully I am not the first person to have this problem.

None of that is necessary. I can start my car in the winter, turn on the heated seats and let it sit for 5-10 minutes and everything is nice and warm. It's possible that the heating elements in the seat are going bad.

Is it possible that the seat heater may not function on a coupe seat which isn't locked... (i.e: the rear release is broken?)

I found that if I slam the seat back as it I am locking it into the normal place, the heater will work...

Who knows... I'll have to take it apart and look at it I guess.
