• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

sd mod effected by iats....WHAT?? (video)

Looks like whatever that knob does, it's plugged in inline with the IAT sensor which is feeding false info to the PCM (which is probably how that knob does what ever it does).

It's only safe if you have the mods to support commanding that much timing. You certainly can't do it on a stock car and have much gain with it.

Yea what he said lol...basicly it is a knob that you can manually retard or advance timing with on the fly....I guess you really dont need if you have a tuner....but thats just me

....good idea though...and a lot of people use them

On the stock pcm iat tables basicly colder air means more timing....or not as much pulled anyway....

but if you have a tuner you can do the same thing he is doing with the happy knob...just not as quick....matter of fact i think that is what brian does

ahhha, thats kinda cool tho. convient. i should problew stay away from it tho, i would be like OH ferari, happy nob, BOOM. idk wouldent it just be smarter to let the pcm do it?? but i guess if you know yours stuff then you should be okay..

but i guess if you know yours stuff then you should be okay..

bingo...plus he's got a scan gauge right in front of him....so he's aware of whats going on right there....imho i wouldnt touch the happy knob without being able to see whats going on...scanning wise

It's a good idea, good design. and people love them.

But it's part of that fine line you ride when you go extreme. Mostly intercooled guys use this because they don't have to worry about the SC outlet temps being as high as non intercooled guys.

It's about preference of course, sort of like tuning on the fly. But like all things dealing with the PCM you have to be very careful.
