Scratches

Yesterday a lil kid thought it would be fun to run his fingernails over my spoiler multiple time so now i got a **** load of sctraches on there... what im wondering if theres and easy way to remove these?? Anythings helpful thanks!

try polishing them out with a buffer

most scratches are surface in the clear.

if its not then you need touch up paint.

as long as you cant feel the scratch with your finger nail, as you drag your nail across it, it will buff out. even by hand.

if they are light scratches, compound will work. then wax after your done. to do a whole car by hand really does suck, its hard work. but a porter cable buffer makes it almost easy.

just the spoiler should be ok to get by a hand compounding.

i like to use the liquid compound my self. turtle wax makes it, nice and cheap, but works well.

Compound then polish and they should come out.

If not there's always wetsanding but don't exactly recommend that unless you know what your doing.

alright thanks for info, ill see when i get to town to pick some up and cross my fingers that it works. Any other helpful info i should know? :)

read the directions of the product you buy, and do it in the shade, no direct sun. wash the spoiler first, you want the pant to be cool to warm at most, hot paints no good, aka baking in the sun for the last 3 hours deal. cool it off if its real hot, then start compounding it.

youtube has good how to vids too. seeing is better then reading most of the time. some times its just the confidence boost you need. its easy to do tho.

Not sure if i love the forum or the people, cause it worked :D lol they are not noticable unless you acually get down towards an angle and try looking for them. I apreaciate all your help.
P.S. Next time mention you need alotta elbow grease :P lol jk

yeah it might have but me no have that money so ill stick to what i got done lol plus im satified with it so yeah... plus whats a used car with out some scratches? lol

if you got a few good friends who are into keeping their cars looking good, you can all chip in and buy one, you'll never use it on the same day. and the products last a long time really, im on the same jar of compound for the last 2.5 years. and wax for that matter.

do this with really good friends, ( who care) as who wants a dick messing it up, or killing the pads. its one of them tools that will almost last forever being it gets used once or twice a year. unless your my brother, he does his Yukon almost monthly, but hes anal for sure.

or drop lots of hints at x mass or birthday time lol
