Scanner not reading KR?

I have an android tablet with torque pro (with the GM PIDS installed) and a BAFX OBD2 Bluetooth adapter. It reads everything properly (speed, rpm, coolant temp, etc) but KR stays at 0 no matter how hard I get on it. I have a hard time believing this car has absolutely zero knock, even at WOT through the full rpm range. I also lugged the car around in OD with the converter locked at about 45 and even up a slight grade, no KR on the scanner. Is that possible? The car in question is the 2004 Monte Carlo SS Dale jr edition. (L67 car) and running 93 octane. The only known modification is a 160 degree thermostat. No idea what plugs are in it. I haven't tried this scanner in the GTP yet, but I will as soon as the GTP is fixed.

Well, I finally got a KR reading of 1 degree, so it's working on the Monte Carlo. Tried it on the GTP and It won't read ANY data, and it's throwing the code U1000 (Class 2 Communication Malfunction). Any idea what that could be?

No experience with the code but I have had issues with Torque Pro reading KR. Sometimes it reads, sometimes it doesn't. You're not the only one

Yup, crap. It does light up, and the blue tooth connects with my tablet too. It specifically says the blue tooth is not connected to the ecm. Well, I guess it's time for a new pcm.

theres a guy on FB zeph hatten, hes in the 3800 performance and 3800 market place pageas. he's offering 50 dollar tunes. im not sure if thats with a pcm or not, but worth looking into. guy knows his 3800 tunes, helped mine out for sure.

I hooked my regular code scanner into the GTP on Saturday since I fixed my exhaust leak and I wanted to see if I could get the handheld scanner to read from the port. At first it didn't, but it prompted me with an option to "reinstate PIDs" to which I opted yes. A few seconds later, the scanner was working, I was able to read and erase the codes for the CEL, and see the real time data that I couldn't see with the blue tooth connector and my tablet running torque pro. Naturally I had to see if the blue tooth adapter would be able to connect now too. So I hooked it up and BAM, it all works now. I can see all the data on my tablet. That's the good news!

The bad news is that even though I'm still 100% stock, at WOT under load, I'm seeing as much as 5.6 degrees of KR! I ALWAYS put 93 octane in it from Sunoco. No exceptions. I'm gonna put in some colder plugs and see if that helps. I even noticed a degree of KR at part throttle with vacuum still reading on the scanner. Not even in boost. WTF?
