Sad puppy whine. SC oil went low. SC toast?

My 02gtp has developed a sad whine, almost a puppy-ish whine, that is rpm dependent. It seems worse right now at idle and has developed into a varying whine. Sometimes its there, sometimes its not. It's like magic. The whine comes from the front passenger side. What do you think it is?

Background: I drove it 230 miles and noticed it whining like a puppy when i got off the highway. Parked it and started it the next day. It wasnt whining but it sounded like metal on metal. Like sharpening knives kind of, a hiss of metallic on metallic. The metal on metal sound goes away as it warmed up and i filled a bit of powersteering fluid cause i figured that would fix it. All other fluids were fine. I hadnt checked the SC cause i didnt have my allen wrench. Drove it back home another 230 miles. Checked SC oil next day and i squeezed in a good several ounces of SC oil. Started it, still had that metal on metal sound. As it warmed up, that metal on metal sound went away somewhat and then the sad puppy whine kicked back in. It's getting worse. The sad puppy has gone to a bit of an angrier puppy, with a louder whine.

Did I kill my supercharger by letting the oil get too low? And BTW, there is NO rattling.

Could it be my alternator? The sad puppy sound almost sounds like it could be feedback through the speakers. I'm not sure.

I havent gotten it to make the sound when im outside of the car. How convenient...

Probably the snout bearings. Mine have been making that noise since we got the car, and we checked the SC fluid about a year after purchase only to find it dry. 2 years after that I'm still running with noisy bearings.

I haven't done anything with the car. In fact, it's sat for a good week and I haven't even started it. That's what happens when you end up in the hospital for 5 days and end up with a chronic myeloid leukemia diagnosis. I'll start it tomorrow and hopefully drive it around depending on how these hydrocodones are treating me. I was thinking of just going to firestone since I have the atrocious firestone card. I'm trying to pass the buck to the future so I can try to finish graduating this december despite my cancer. (sarcasm on) Life sure is interesting...(sarcasm off)

It was an idler pulley. The tops mounts were crap too. Fixed and there is no whine. Plus got new CV boots since old ones were torn up.

Medical marijuana won't stop the progression unfortunately. Only the most advanced cancer drugs will work for this. I have a regular appetite so far so I don't really need THC extract or anything like that. Once it's legal here, I'll probably smoke some again. When I get "settled in" with my permanent drug regimen, I'll be able to focus on things like diet and natural remedies such as weed. But the chances of finding a cure in weed is like finding a cure underneath my bathroom sink. I really do wish it wasn't this way...
