S1x vs. XP

I was originally going to do yella terra 1.9's but, I figured Id skip the baby bottle and go to something a bit more aggressive. Im trying to figure out what compliments my new setup best. I love the way the xp sounds at idle, sounds loopier than an s1x. Ive heard the s1x is better for street use and more tame. I want to feel the power of the cam when i get into power band, and I want a nasty idle :). Opinions? Since im going to need 105# valve springs, are the severe duty valves worth the $$?

The car is my dd and use it frequently. I am really trying for 12's...

new setup:
-gen v top swap
-n* t/b
-all breathing mods to support, and adding an S2 i/c when it comes summer time.
 


cant speak from expernce but what ive gathered, the xp is more of a top end cam, 4500-6400rpm. ive heard the s1x is a more streetable cam also, mid range. with the intercooler, im sure whatever cam you choise, with the right tunning you will be able to go 12's
 
both can make good power, but it depends where you want it. if i were to choose out of the two i would pick an s1x. it has a more usable powerband and i think it lopes better. intense makes good cams.
 
You can hit low 12's with the S1X and no IC, with an IC you could hit 11's. That is with the proper tuning and a built tranny, race gas, slicks.
 
my buddy ran high 12's with a 2.XX 60ft with the S1x, Gen V, N*, Lq4 and 3.29's in a Bonneville

My vote is the S1x

The silver/two color car has the S1X cam, GenV, N* tb. it has run a best of 12.3
The black car has an XP cam, S2 IC, Ported Gen3, N* tb. it has run a best of 12.6 or 12.8 i think

You can kinda see where the cams hit their powerbands in the video since they run about the same mph and ET's.
 


^both of those cars scream. It seems that the S1x is probably the way to go, I did change my mind, ive decided to get the s2 intercooler first, and cam it over the summer. Thanks everyone for there input.
