running hot @ idle......

I've been noticing my temp is climbing above 210 lately while parked. When I drive im good tho. Lim gaskets have been done, new coolant sensor, no leaks, etc. Tried searching this, but the only fix I've found is re programming the fans with hptuners.....which I don't have or know anyone that does. There's gotta be a better way of keeping the temps down to normal range.

If the a/c is not on, this is normal. The fans dont turn on unitll over 210f, I think the on point is 218f for the low fan, and 228 for the high fan.

Huh?

214 and 226 are the fan speeds.

Thats not even hot, if that motor could run at 400* all day every day it would be so much more effiecent, but making parts to handle that heat wont happen.

If you are really worried about it, try bleeding the cooling system of air again, there might be some air trapped in there still, otherwise the "problem" sounds 100% normal.

If its normal im not too worried about it, but when I can see the heat vapors just pouring out of the hood and the temp climbing I tend to get a lil concerned, lol. Guess im not used to seeing that. I've had the car for a year now and have never noticed it do that.

Heat vapors are the clear wavy lines you see coming from something hot.

They make coolant additives that can help keep your temp down a little. I can't remember the name of it but it's in a small clear bottle and the liquid is the same green as the coolant.

I just changed my thermostat because my temps were just slightly above the 160 mark even while stopped and idling. Bleed the system and now it runs right at the mark between 160 & 210. Stopped and idling it'll rise just the slightest bit.

My 00 GT acted like this after I did the lim and didn't bleed of the air at the thermostat. Coolant levels would be good.....it would run at good temps until you'd come to a stop....then the temps would climb.
